Uttar Pradesh created 3 crore jobs in five years in MSME sector, says survey

LUCKNOW: Based on a survey of 1 1 lakh MSME loan accounts, the state

government has estimated that 3.28 crore jobs were generated in the

sector over the past five years.

The survey, conducted by the department of MSME and export promotion,

looked at 11 lakh loan accounts out of a total of 95 lakh loan accounts.

The department then carried out a physical verification of beneficiary details.

The survey report states that the 11 lakh units which took the loans

generated about 56 lakh jobs.

“If the results of the survey are scaled up to the total number of bank accounts, it can be concluded that in the last five years, the government has generated more than 3.28 crore jobs just through the MSME sector,” said a government spokesperson.
