"Guj MSMEs to gain from SPI scheme: IDMA"

The pharmaceuticals sector in Gujarat is preparing to upgrade existing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises under the new strengthening of the Pharmaceutical Industry (SPI) scheme. It envisages technology upgrades and setting up common research centers and effluent treatment plants in clusters for pharma MSMEs.

Gujarat has more than 3,000 pharmaceutical units and IDMA will educate these units on the scheme to ensure that Gujaratincreases its prominence in the pharma sector. indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA) president Viranchi Shah said, “The new scheme has been introduced to strengthen the pharmaceuticals sector and we believe Gujarat MSME pharma units will get the most advantage of this.
